Forest Lake & Districts RSL Sub Branch Inc. is a proud member of the South Eastern District of RSL Queensland, supporting veterans, current serving Australian Defence Force members and their families throughout Forest Lake, Wacol and the surrounding region. The Sub Branch is dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of veterans through advocacy, community engagement, commemorative activities and innovative support programs that make a meaningful difference to the lives of veterans and first responders.

The Sub Branch is committed to ensuring help is always available for veterans, serving members and their families. Through partnerships with organisations including Defence Bank Foundation and Defence Community Dogs, the Sub Branch supports veterans through its Assistance Dog Program, helping improve confidence, independence and wellbeing.

Held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm.

Board Meetings
Held on the first Tuesday of each month.

Held on the third Tuesday in February each year.

Commemorative Services

Forest Lake & Districts RSL Sub Branch proudly conducts and supports commemorative services throughout the year, honouring the service and sacrifice of Australian Defence Force personnel.

ANZAC Day

Dawn Service
Held annually at the Amphitheatre, Forest Lake.

Parade and Main Service
The parade commences from High Street, Forest Lake and proceeds to the Amphitheatre where the main commemorative service is conducted.

Vietnam Veterans’ Day

Held annually on 18 August at the Chapel within the Military Museum Precinct at Nashos Place, Wacol, followed by supper and fellowship at the Sub Branch clubhouse.

Remembrance Day

Conducted annually at the Amphitheatre, The Esplanade, Forest Lake.

Get Involved

The Sub Branch welcomes veterans, serving members, families and community supporters interested in becoming involved. Whether you are seeking support, companionship, volunteering opportunities or community involvement, the Sub Branch offers a welcoming environment where members can connect and contribute.

Regular Activities

Coffee With Mates
Held on selected Mondays from 10:00am to 12:00pm. All members of the community are welcome to attend and enjoy social interaction, conversation and light refreshments.

Monthly BBQ Social Day
Held on the second Saturday of each month from 11:00am to 2:00pm (excluding January). These gatherings provide an opportunity for veterans, families and community members to connect in a relaxed environment.

Day Trips and Social Outings
Regular outings are organised throughout the year, helping members remain socially connected and engaged.

Community Facilities
The Sub Branch clubhouse and meeting rooms are available for community use and can be booked through the Sub Branch Office.

Assistance Dog Program

A flagship initiative of the Sub Branch, the Assistance Dog Program supports serving and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members and first responders experiencing challenges including anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Working in partnership with the Defence Bank Foundation and Defence Community Dogs, specially trained assistance dogs are matched with veterans to provide emotional and physical support. Veterans participating in the program receive practical training and support to help maximise the benefits of their assistance dog and strengthen confidence, independence and overall wellbeing.

Membership is available to veterans, serving members, families and community supporters, with current serving Australian Defence Force personnel eligible for complimentary membership.
